Cremation in the United Kingdom for Ukrainians
Losing a loved one is always difficult. And when this happens abroad, in the United Kingdom, the confusion of what to do, where to turn, and how to properly arrange everything adds to the pain.
Vespera takes full responsibility for the organization — from the collection of the body to the delivery of the urn with ashes to your home in Ukraine.
How it works
After your call, we explain each step and coordinate all the details. Then you sign the authorization remotely — through electronic services, without the need to travel to the United Kingdom.
We collect the body from the place of death, take care of the preparation — washing, dressing, placing in the coffin. We obtain the medical certificate, register the death, and conduct the cremation at the appropriate crematorium.
After cremation — we receive the urn and all documents, legalize them, prepare permits for transportation across the border, and deliver the ashes to you in Ukraine.
How much does it cost
The average cost of cremation in the United Kingdom for Ukrainian citizens ranges from 3,800 to 4,800 euros. This amount includes transportation of the body within the United Kingdom, conducting the cremation, processing all documents, a standard urn, interaction with the consulate, and delivery of ashes to Ukraine.
The final price depends on the region, the format of farewell, and additional wishes of the family — for example, a custom urn, religious service, or musical accompaniment. All of this is discussed in advance and fixed before the work begins. No unforeseen expenses after signing the agreements.
How long does cremation take
In standard cases — from 5 to 7 days considering the processing of all documents. If the death is related to a traffic accident or a criminal proceeding, the time may be longer — due to the need for a forensic autopsy and obtaining the necessary permits.
In which cities do we operate
Vespera organizes cremations in all cities of the United Kingdom: London, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Bristol, Sheffield, Newcastle, Nottingham, Leicester, Southampton, Cardiff, Belfast, and hundreds of smaller cities.
Can one say goodbye before cremation
Yes. The family has the opportunity to hold a farewell ceremony before cremation — in a special hall of the morgue or a ritual room. This service is paid separately and is organized at your request.
If necessary, the deceased can be dressed — you can provide us with clothing, or we will help with the selection.
Transporting the urn with ashes to Ukraine
For transportation of ashes across the border, we will prepare a complete package of documents: a medical certificate of death, a notarized certificate, a cremation certificate, a permit from the sanitary-epidemiological service, a certificate of absence of foreign inclusions, and a consular document.
All formalities are our concern. You simply wait at home.
